The All Whites are going to the World Cup Finals in 2010 to be held in South Africa. This addition to my web site isn't to cash in on their glory but to keep their presence prominent. That vital win at the Westpac Stadium might have been the end of the journey of qualifying but the real journey is yet to begin. Friendlies and build up before June/July 2010 are yet to be organised or confirmed. One can be sure that Ricki Herbert and Brian Turner in con junction with Frank Van Hattum at New Zealand Football's HQ, will assemble the cast and crew of what is to be New Zealand's greatest adventure since the John Adshead/Kevin Fallon/ Charlie Dempsey's sojourn to Spain in 1982. The surviving hero's from that momentous and historical first occasion were honoured and thanked warmly on Saturday 14 November 2009 before the vital return leg game against the principality of Bahrain. Now we have a new generation of hero's. Ricki Herbert and Brian Turner have joined a unique club of 8 persons whom have played and coached their country at the finals. Other names off the top of my head include Franz Bechenbauer of West Germany and Diego Maradonna of Argentina (If he keeps his job after his announced suspension until January 2010). I was privileged enough to be able to attend some of the training session out at Endeavour Park. Before you are some of the many photos taken from those sessions and also from the game itself. They'll be changed around with other coming in and replacing those already here. A chance to relive and enjoy the week which saw the All Whites qualify for South Africa 2010
